Chief Strategy + Engagement Officer, Grupo Gallegos
Where are you right now?
In my kitchen catching up on blogs like this one.
Where is your favorite place for a breakfast meeting?
Anywhere that the coffee is good.
What was your first job?
I packed groceries at a supermarket when I was in high school. That part of the job wasn’t so fun. But at the end of the shift I collected trolleys and would see how long a train I could manage. It was a highlight.
How do you think we can keep talent motivated?
Give them their own projects outside the day-to-day of the job. Let them make their version of a trolley train.
What excites you about this next decade?
The rapid shifts in the demography of the U.S. If we think the technology shifts have been interesting over the past decade, just imagine what that will mean over the next decade as the cultural melting pot comes into even greater play.
If you had to make a quick escape where would you go?
On a boat – somewhere there is great fishing and no people.
What is on your bedside table?
An iphone, an ipad and a cup of coffee. A dangerous combination.
If you weren't in this business what would you be doing?
Carpentry. I’ve always had a thing for tool belts – with a hammer hanging from the hip.
Who would you most like to meet for a drink?
Michelle Obama. She can bring Barack of course. But I’m a big Michelle fan.
What is your greatest extravagance?
I have a collection of vintage shopping trolleys.
